Why You Should Read "Flashpoint: Reverse-Flash"

Who is the man in the yellow suit?

According to Isaac Newton's Third Law of Physics, "For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction", thus because the Flash exists there is the Reverse-Flash.

Tying into the "Flashpoint" story, this serves as an origin story of the Reverse-Flash and his life as the Flash's greatest foe. However, instead of making the Reverse-Flash a sympathetic or pitiful character, but instead shows the extent of his evil.

So, who is the Reverse-Flash? His real name is Eobard Thawne and he was born in the 22st century. In Thawne's era, the Flash is a famous and respected historic and scientific figure. In this story, we see Thawne grow up in a cold family but we also see how the Reverse-Flash used his ability to change time to improve his childhood.

Yes, that is probably what makes this story so unique as an origin story, because we not only see how Eobard Thawne became the Reverse-Flash, but also how he used his abilities as the Reverse-Flash to alter his own origin. And like most super villains, Eobard Thawne used to love and respect the Flash, until he felt insulted by his hero, becoming the Flash's greatest and most determined enemies.

This story is also partially an origin story of Barry Allen as the Flash...but with a bit of a twist. Reverse-Flash alters Barry Allen's life and makes him into the Flash that we all know and love. Every tragedy in Barry's life is the result of the Reverse Flash's hate for the Flash.

I think this is a really cool story about a character that is pure evil. As much as you want to feel bad for how this character was raised, the Reverse-Flash is still despicable and hates the Flash to the point where he is completely illogical.

When is comes to artwork for Flash stories, I prefer Francis Manapul, but I have to admit that Joel Gomez's art in this story is beautiful and rivals Manapul's art. I enjoy how the lightning and colors look, it's very electric.

Even though this story ties into "Flashpoint", I think a fan can read this story without getting confused or having to read "Flashpoint, though I think reading that story will make this one so much more enjoyable.
